How to play Maxi Yatzy
Maxi Yatzy is the six-dice version of Yatzy, the classic dice game. Roll six dice up to 3 times a turn, keep the ones you like, and fill all 20 rows of the scorecard for the biggest score you can. Here you play it free in your browser: shake the dice in a soap bubble and throw them across a floating island.
A turn
Grab the bubble, shake it and let go.
Tap a die, or the lock under it, to keep it. Then throw the rest again.
You get 3 rolls every turn. The ones you don't use are saved for later turns: the big number at the top shows how many you have.
Tap a row on the scorecard to write your points there. The ★ suggests a row that suits your dice. If nothing fits, pick a row anyway: it gets 0.
Fill all 20 rows of the scorecard, one row each turn. Your score is all the points added up.

Questions
What is Maxi Yatzy?
The six-dice version of Yatzy, the classic five-dice game that many know as Yahtzee. A sixth die brings bigger patterns: Three Pairs, a Full Straight, a Castle and a Tower, and the top row, Maxi Yatzy, is all six dice the same.
How is Maxi Yatzy different from Yatzy or Yahtzee?
Maxi Yatzy has six dice instead of five, and 20 rows instead of Yatzy's 15 (Yahtzee has 13). The upper rows give 100 bonus points at 84, where Yatzy gives 50 points at 63 (Yahtzee 35). In Maxi Yatzy, the rolls you don't use are saved for later turns.
Why is the bonus at 84?
It's four of each number: 4 × (1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6) = 84. You don't need exactly four of each; a strong row makes up for a weak one.
What happens to the rolls I don't use?
They're saved. Score after your first roll, and the 2 rolls you didn't use carry over: the next turn starts with 5 instead of 3. The big number at the top of the screen shows how many you have.
What does the ★ mean?
It suggests a row that suits your dice: three or more of a number go to that number's row, and a pattern you've rolled to its own row. You can always pick another row, and switch the suggestions off in Settings.
What's the highest possible score in Maxi Yatzy?
649, in theory: six of each number in the upper rows, the bonus, and every other row at its best.
Do I need an account? Does it cost anything?
No account and no sign-up: open the page and play. It’s free.
Can I play Maxi Yatzy on my phone?
Yes: on phones, tablets and computers, in any up-to-date browser, with the phone upright or sideways.
Is my game saved?
Yes, on your device after every move, so you can close the page and carry on later. Clearing your browser's data for the site removes it.
Which languages can I play in?
English, Finnish (Suomi) and Swedish (Svenska): choose in Settings.
